David Taschner

David and Lori began attending Saylorville Church in 2006. They were looking for a church that was close to home and had a strong emphasis in evangelism and discipleship.

David grew up in a religious home and was taught from an early age to pray and memorize scripture. But it wasn’t until his mid-30s, when he met a godly man who used the Bible to show him his sin and God’s love through Jesus’ death and resurrection. David repented and was saved, and the Lord started making changes in his life.

David and Lori have led a Community Group and discipled men and women since 2010. Three years ago, they helped launch and continue to lead the Gospel Centered Recovery (GCR) program.

When asked why he’s excited to become a deacon, he responded, “It has been amazing to see God’s work through Saylorville Church! I am excited to serve the church body and to learn from our godly leaders.”
