Great Expectations Series
“Growing up, no holiday created greater expectations for me than Christmas. I looked forward to decorating, all the treats and cookies, the winter break and of course – the gifts. But I especially anticipated the return of my brothers and sisters. I was one of the youngest of my parent’s nine children. By the time I knew what was happening, several of my older brothers and sisters were off to college or married and living away from home. I nearly counted the days leading up to their return home! I couldn’t wait for them to come back. Yet, I did have to wait.
The promise of Jesus’ first coming created great expectations among many of God’s people. Many, but not all. This Christmas we will focus on the great expectations of those who were truly waiting for His coming. Why focus on that? Because just as God promised His Messiah was coming the first time, He has promised He is coming again. Are you expectant? Join us this Christmas season as we look to Scripture in both Old and New Testaments on those who had great expectations of Jesus’ coming.” – Pat Nemmers, Lead Pastor
