1. Model what you expect and include them when you can.
2. Adjust to the seasons of the journey.
3. Learn the "Pace Principle."
4. Ask lots of questions and listen to the answers.
5. Emphasize character formation (internal), not just cultural fads (external).
6. Refuse to criticize; reject negativity.
7. Write it down and pass it on. (journal)
