Josh and Stephanie started attending Saylorville in 2003. They were new to the area and visited several churches. The solid preaching from the Bible and consistent evidence of people living for Jesus was something they wanted to learn from and become part of.
Josh was almost eight years old and camping in the backyard with his dad when he trusted Christ as his personal Lord and Savior. He had heard the Gospel story and had the verses memorized but had never made it personal. His dad used a convenient illustration of some ants in their tent and how they seemed to know where they were going. His dad challenged him to think about where he was going for all of eternity. It was then he realized he was a sinner, that Jesus had died and rose again to take the penalty for his sins and that he needed to accept the free gift of salvation made possible by grace through faith.
Josh considers it a joy to serve alongside the pastors, staff and deacons. If he can help lighten the load and carry things that allow them to better focus on their respective greater areas of responsibility then he’s done his part.
Josh serves as the chair of our Missions Committee. He also serves on the Music Team and for the past two years as a Junior Boys camp counselor. Josh and Stephanie are also Cell Group leaders.
