Jim and D started attending Saylorville in the summer of 2017. After many years of serving and worshiping at a Bible-believing church on the east side of Des Moines, they felt led to seek a new place of worship. When they visited Saylorville, they felt at home and knew right away this was a Gospel-centered, Bible-believing church and they were excited to be part of it. Their family has had opportunities to grow and connect and they have been grateful for the ministries of Saylorville.
Jim had the blessing of growing up in a Christian home and attending a Bible-believing church his entire life. He understood that Christ died for his sins on the cross and that by placing his belief in the Lord he would have eternal life. He accepted Jesus as his Savior and became a Christian at the age of 11. His faith continued to grow through his high school years, and he was baptized at the age of 17. At the University of Iowa, he was involved with Campus Crusade for Christ and his faith really opened with a greater understanding of the Bible and evangelism on campus. He believes it is essential to never stop learning and always continue learning more and more about the Bible.
He is currently serving on the Parking Team, Security Team, Greeting Team and Building Committee. D serves as one of our Wedding Coordinators and volunteers in Women’s Ministry activities. This year Jim is leading a Men’s Community Group and D is leading a Women’s Community Group.
