Randy Charlton

Randy grew up in Waterloo, Iowa, where at the age of five his family began to attend a Bible preaching church.  Church became a regular event in his life and at the age of eleven. While attending a week of Vacation Bible School, he became convicted of his sin and his need for a Savior.  A faithful Sunday school teacher opened the Bible with him on the back stairway of the church and shared how he could be saved.  Two years later, along with other members of his family, he was baptized as a public display of his faith in Christ.  Randy attended Bible college for one year after high school and then returned home and began working for John Deere Waterloo Works.  During a time of being laid off from Deere, Randy returned to Bible college, along with his wife and three sons, and graduated in 1989.  He returned to Deere for a short time before accepting the call to pastor a church and administrate a small Christian school in Minnesota.  Randy later pastored another church in Minnesota and two churches in Iowa before retiring from full time ministry at the end of 2018.  Since that time, he and his wife Rita, have attended Saylorville Church and have been involved in various ministries.  As the Senior Adult Director, it is his desire to see senior adults grow in their faith, remain active in the ministries of Saylorville Church and leave a legacy that impacts their families and others for the glory of God and the building of the Church.

Randy and Rita have three sons, three daughters-in-law, three grandsons and four granddaughters.
