Saylorville Senior Adults (SSA)
Our purpose is to communicate and share God’s love to those in the church family and to those outside the church in order to further the purpose of Saylorville Church in making “More People More Like Jesus.” The Saylorville Senior Adult ministry is for those around 70 years and older.
If you have any questions please feel free to contact Randy Charlton, the Senior Adult director, at randy@saylorvillechurch.com. Or check out our Facebook page at ‘Saylorville Senior Adults‘ for information concerning activities.
Monthly Meetings
Whether enjoying the beautiful tulips and tasty Dutch Letters in Pella, enjoying a relaxing breakfast together in a local park or a soup lunch at the church, our goal is to help those of around 70 years and older know how important they are to the well-being of our entire faith family. We attempt to provide an activity or meeting on the third Wednesday of every month, however, there are times when the date will change depending on the activity for that month.
Bible Studies and Community Groups
Senior adults are encouraged to be a part of a Community Group and also invited to join a Bible study designed specifically for their age group. Community Groups normally meet once a week and are usually multi-generational, giving older adults an opportunity to share their life experiences and wisdom with the younger generation while delving into Biblical truths based on the current preaching series or designated Bible study. Bible Studies are offered at times throughout the year and designed specifically for women or men. Bible Studies may be focused on a book of the Bible, Bible characters, current topics or topics specific to senior adults. Studies are often held at the church with dates and times set by the leader/teacher, with most being held during daytime hours. Topics and times are shared as
studies are scheduled.
All activities, monthly meetings and Bible studies, are designed to better help seniors grow closer to each other as well as to the Lord.
