Agony & Ecstasy

The word “extreme” has been attached to everything from flipping a house to dangerous sports. But in a matter of three days the most extreme suffering and extreme glory occurred in the life of Jesus the Christ. We’re calling it “Agony & Ecstasy”.

This year for Easter we are having a Good Friday service on Friday, April 6th at 6:30pm to reflect on the agony of the cross followed by Easter on Sunday, April 8th with the ecstasy of the resurrection of the Savior! We are encouraging everyone to attend both services.

On Sunday there will be two services at 8:30am and 10:15am with a
continental breakfast a half hour before both services.

Easter Schedule:

First Service Breakfast – 8:00am
First Service – 8:30am
Second Service Breakfast – 9:45am
Second Service – 10:15am
No Evening Activities

If you are coming to the breakfast, please come to the one before the service you will be attending. This will help us with parking, space and overall flow.

Parking Information

Due to larger crowds on Easter, we will be shuttling people from the VFW’s West Parking Lot at 1309 NE 66th Ave, Des Moines, IA 50313. Please see the map below for more details. We want to make parking as easy and simple as possible. If you are visiting Saylorville on Easter Sunday, please park in our main parking lots near the church. We will have many volunteers to help you park and direct you to the breakfast and worship times.

  1. It was wonderful seeing so many people show up for the Good Friday service. I loved the rock song Dan sang. It was the perfect minor sound for the sorrow of Jesus’ pain, then had an amazing, uplifting chorus. Please have them play that song again sometime.
